Swathi Kashettar

Infinix recently unveiled its special anniversary limited edition series, the Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition series, in the Indian market. The special series consists of two models – the  Infinix Note 40 Pro and the Infinix Note 40 Pro+. The F1 Racing-inspired design is a result of their work together with Design Works, a BMW Group company. This partnership makes the devices look flashy and sporty, with the inclusion of the signature BMW tricolor logo and stripe elements across them.
The Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition series boasts a striking design. The rear surfaces of the phones have been finished glossy, crafted with PC+PMMA materials, and a UV transfer printing process. This gives these phones a premium appeal. The back design additionally features mirroring silver logos on the back surfaces. The camera panel setup on the back remains the same as on the regular Note 40 Pro+, except this one features the BMW tricolor logo engraving, and makes it easy to recognize at first glance.
Upfront, custom-themed wallpapers, UIs, and icons ensure that the enticing feel of owning a special edition is always present. Attention to detail has been extended to the package contents provided in the box, giving you a wholesome and premium unboxing experience.

Display and Performance

The Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition series holds within it the two models fitted with a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display is given durable and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The refresh rate is ranked at a high refresh rate to provide a clean and responsive user experience, hence making the device perfect for gaming and video watching.

The phones are, therefore, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor for robust performance during everyday tasks and while gaming. The Note 40 Pro model hosts 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, while the Note 40 Pro+ is equipped with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition Vs Smartphones

Recently launched in India, the new Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition series is a device that offers a trendy design and is made for performance, all at an attractive price point. We put it against some of the popular devices in the same segment.

Design and Build

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: This series bears the design inspired by F1 Racing; it has been powered by BMW Group's Design Works. The glossy finish, BMW tricolor logo, and custom-themed UI give it a premium and sporty look.

Others: The likes of the Realme GT Neo 3, Poco F4, and of course other competing smartphones come with a sleek design but without the unique branding and thematic use that we have in the Inifinix Note 40 Racing Edition. Where Realme and Poco go for a minimal look, Infinix does have a unique flair brought to the table in combination with BMW.

Display

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: It has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, along with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, which would ensure colors are vibrant, the scrolling effect is smooth, and it's very tough.

Others: The OnePlus Nord 2T and the Samsung Galaxy M52 come with AMOLED and high refresh rates. However, the racing-inspired custom UI elements of the Infinix Note 40 make it an immersive experience for the eyes.

Storage

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: Among others in the series are the Note 40 Pro, powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7020 with 8GB and 256GB storage, and the Note 40 Pro+ with 12GB RAM: 256 GB, both cementing the user experience with smooth multitasking and gaming performance.

Others: The Realme GT Neo 3 and Poco F4 both come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and Snapdragon 870, respectively, the SoCs of which bring a slight bump in performance. But that doesn't mean a general user would freak out over the configuration of the Infinix Note 40 about memory and storage.

Camera

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: It comes with a 108MP main sensor along with two lenses with 2MPs for depth and macro photography. It also gets a 32MP front camera promising great selfie and video call results.

Others: On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord 2T and the Samsung Galaxy M52 feature a 50MP and 64MP primary sensor, respectively. The output from their lenses is decent enough but with the 108MP workers on the Infinix Note 40, one can expect a lot more resolution and detail.

Battery and Charging

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: Note 40 Pro empowers a 5,000mAh battery, whilst taking in 45W fast charging; Note 40 Pro+ has a 4,600mAh battery, taking in a super-fast 100W charge. This guarantees you a fast charge and an assured long-lasting battery life.

Others: While the size of the batteries and the speed of charging remain more or less at par with each other on the Realme GT Neo 3 and Poco F4, it is only the 100W on the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ that outshines the rest, and pulls much ahead in battery recharges.

Software and Features

Infinix Note 40 Racing Edition: The device runs with XOS, an Infinix-customized Android skin. Additionally, AI-driven features include AI Active Halo Lighting and some custom emojis for added user experience and touch.

Others: However, rival smartphones are running OxygenOS, such as the OnePlus Nord 2T, and others are running One UI, such as the Samsung Galaxy M52. And though these skins provide smoothness and most of the features, the AI features and other customizations of XOS make the Infinix Note 40 more personalized.
