Realme is gearing up to make a big leap in the Indian smartphone market as it has vowed to come with only AI-enabled smartphones in the future. To further differentiate the Realme GT series, the brand also states that, with this, every GT series smartphone in the future will be a “flagship killer”. When in interaction with HT Tech, the Realme Vice President and the CMO Chase Xu shed some light on the forthcoming Realme GT series and how they are planning to go forward and incorporate AI on their Realme GT series smartphone.

The Realme GT series has always been very much in the performance category right from the start, and after five generations of improvement, the company recently released the Realme GT 6 series in 2024. Though the planning and development of the smartphones has taken two years, both the GT 6 and GT 6T have received much recognition in the segment.

Realme Plans for Future Generation of GT Series

The Realme GT 6 series was launched in the high-mid-ranged smartphones and has attracted premium features. Realme GT 6 series is the first device in the ‘Flagship killer’ and ‘Next AI’ series from the company, during an interaction with HT Tech, VP of Realme Chase Xu outlined how the company intends to launch the upcoming GT series smartphones to India.

Chase declared that each new flagship smartphone in the GT series would be a game-changer, stating, "Flagship Killer criteria, there won't be a Realme GT release." Additionally, it was reported that the company has doubled its spending on the GT series smartphones since 2023, increasing it by a "390 percent" mark. "We are dedicated to delivering top-notch technology and aesthetics to our consumers, and we're thrilled about the potential of the GT series," he elaborated. "More information will be made available nearer to the release."

Realme's AI Strategy

In answering Realme’s AI strategy, Chase highlighted the company’s positioning as an “AI Populariser” in collaboration with Next AI. Right now, Realme concentrates its resources on three key areas: AI imaging, AI efficiency, and AI personalization. Chase also remarked, “AI we see as a tool that will make user experience better for every smartphone owner and not only those who can afford the best. We see smartphones’ Artificial Intelligence incorporation as a revolutionary change and our emphasis is making them smarter.”

He also explained that current forms of existing AI features in GT 6 include, AI Night Vision, AI Smart Removal, and AI Smart Loop which distinguished the smartphone from its competitors or the devices under the Rs. 40000 category.

What makes the Realme GT 6 series unique in the sub-Rs 40000 smartphone market?

While responding to questions about the Realme GT 6 series, Chase Xu speaking to HT Tech assured that the phones are fashioned with what he referred to as a “performance trio; including a durable battery an innovative Iceberg Vapour Cooling (VC), and a flagship chipset. Chase pointed out that, ‘This new artificial intelligence flagship killer is even more than the usual AI bump and is a channel shift to where AI is the new user interface.’ He also stated that ‘Our AI focus is on the mid-premium tier and yet delivers refreshing innovations at affordable prices.”

Realme is also eyeing more markets increasing the number of markets from over 100 in five years. This will enable the company to establish itself in several countries and develop a strong internet base.
