Instagram unveils Profile Cards for creators, enabling easy sharing and customization with QR codes

Instagram has announced an exciting new feature aimed at creators and users, making it easier and more engaging to share profiles on the platform. The new feature called Profile Cards, allows users to create a two-sided digital card with a QR code for quick sharing, offering multiple customization options to make each card unique and aligned with the user's style.

This feature follows Meta’s recent introduction of the "song on profile" option, which lets users add a song to their profiles to reflect their mood or personality. Both updates highlight Instagram’s ongoing efforts to make profiles more personal and interactive.

Customizable Profile Cards on Instagram

The new Profile Card feature offers more than just a functional way to share profiles; it’s designed to allow users to express themselves through customization. Users can personalize their cards with background colors, selfies or custom emojis. In addition to the QR code linking directly to their profiles, creators can add elements like bio information, links to other pages and even a song that represents their personality.

This updated Profile Card format enables users to share more than just a QR code; they can share elements of their identity, interests and creative work. Whether for personal branding or professional use such as collaborating with brands, Instagram’s Profile Card makes sharing profiles easier and more impactful.

How the Two-Sided Profile Cards Work

The Profile Card comes in a two-sided format: one side is customizable and designed for sharing while the other side features a QR code that can be scanned by others to access the user’s profile directly. This makes it a quick and easy way for creators to connect with potential partners, collaborators, or followers, whether in person or online.

Previously, Instagram only allowed users to share their profiles via QR codes which was somehow limiting. With the updated Profile Card, users can now share a more detailed and visually appealing version of their profile, including favorite music, bio, and more.

How to Use Instagram’s Profile Cards

In order to construct and distribute a Profile Card, the only requirement is to go to the profile section of the app and select the Share Profile option. Otherwise, add bio details, music, and links, further edit the card design using colors, selfies, or emoji removers and stick the card editor.

Once ready, the Profile Card can be issued through stories on Instagram and other channels thus providing wider access to the personal card with all its contents.

Often whilst using Facebook, there are big posters which usually extend from wall to wall: Welcome to the new Profile Card! This is an engaging feature making it fun for users and creators to present their profiles and personality interests even more. And this feature is also terrific because it has a smart, convenient and easy scanning code feature making it useful for personal usage as well as for job recruitment purposes.
