Bitget Wallet, a prominent figure in the Web3 non-custodial wallet landscape, has introduced OmniConnect, an innovative software development kit.

Launched on September 27, 2024, in Victoria, Seychelles, this toolkit empowers developers to link Telegram Mini-Apps with various blockchain networks, including Solana, TON, and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible chains.

OmniConnect facilitates the seamless execution of transactions across these diverse networks directly within the Telegram app, heralding a significant stride in fusing social media functionalities with decentralized technologies.

Alvin Kan, Chief Operating Officer of Bitget Wallet, remarked on the breakthrough, stating that before OmniConnect, Telegram Mini-Apps were restricted to interactions solely with the TON network. This limitation hindered their capability to engage with other prominent blockchains.

"OmniConnect is crafted to eliminate these barriers, thus broadening the scope for developers and enhancing the user experience by simplifying multi-chain interactions through Bitget Wallet," Kan explained.

This development is expected to significantly ease the incorporation of blockchain functionalities into everyday applications, bringing blockchain closer to mainstream social media users.

OmniConnect Integration in Telegram

The integration of OmniConnect is transforming Telegram into a comprehensive gateway to the Web3 ecosystem. Telegram Mini-Apps, web-based applications functioning within Telegram, can now utilize Bitget Wallet for blockchain transactions, enhancing their utility and user-friendliness.

This integration aims to provide over a billion Telegram users with a straightforward and efficient method to engage with various blockchain networks without needing to leave the Telegram environment.

The potential of Telegram Mini-Apps expands with OmniConnect by allowing features such as signing and conducting transactions across supported blockchains directly within these apps.

This move aligns with Bitget Wallet’s mission to connect social platform users with the expansive Web3 world, as part of the broader Bitget Onchain Layer strategy.

In doing so, Bitget Wallet not only aims to streamline the user experience but also to foster a more open and thriving blockchain environment directly accessible from one of the world’s most popular messaging platforms.

Bitget Wallet's Achieved Nearly 2 Million Downloads in August

Bitget Wallet's launch of OmniConnect coincides with its ongoing efforts to deepen its integration within the Telegram and broader blockchain ecosystems.

In August 2024, the wallet achieved nearly 2 million downloads, a testament to its growing popularity and the effectiveness of its user-friendly features, such as the MPC keyless wallet. This feature allows secure logins via common methods like email, Apple ID, Google accounts, and directly through Telegram, enhancing user accessibility and security.
