Apple is developing the first smart home display, reports say, and it is expected to be released sometime in 2025. The design of the product is said to take after the iconic iMac G4.

Design Drawing Inspiration from the Ironic iMac G4

According to the information leaked by tech journalist Mark Gurman in his newsletter, Power On, the smart display boasts a square-shaped screen suspended above a circular base. It is supposedly identical to the one used in 2002's iconic iMac.

It is going to be a central hub for managing many smart home devices, operating under a new OS specifically designed for it.

Features: Rich User Experience

Additional capabilities include FaceTime and Notes, which means it will feature a camera for video calls. The circular base may sport speakers bringing together the capabilities of both the iPad and HomePod.

It is claimed that Apple is also designing an even more intricate variant that may have a robotic arm.

Price and Market Entry

The next-generation device would probably reach the market around 2026 for a price tag around US$1,000, or approximately ₹84,000.

This next smart display is a very meaningful addition to Apple’s product family, following the introduction of the Apple Vision Pro at WWDC 2023.
