Aadhaar is one of India's most significant identification documents. The Aadhaar card contains vital information such as a person's name, address, portrait, biometric data, and other characteristics. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now issued a caution against sending any Aadhaar-related papers through email or WhatsApp.
UIDAI altered the consumers' perceptions of the scam by posting on social media platform X (previously known as Twitter). "BewareOfFraudsters," UIDAI warned. UIDAI would never require you to send your POI/POA papers through email or Whatsapp to update your #Aadhaar. Update your Aadhaar card online at #myAadhaarPortal, or visit an Aadhaar centre near you."
The government has also advised Aadhaar card users to visit the UIDAI official website (http://uidai.gov.in) or download the Aadhaar app to get any Aadhaar-related information. Aadhaar card users can also visit their local Aadhaar centre for any updates.
