BK Bots

BK Bots is a robotics program created by former NYC public school physics teacher Sean Spillane. BK Bots teaches kids how to use Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits to solve a series of challenges. In addition to building the robots, participants will learn how to program them using graphical and text-based languages. BK Bots offers after-school and weekend classes, camps, and parties for kids ages 8 to 13 at various locations in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Robot Foundry

Brooklyn Robot Foundry is a popular robotics program that has three locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Brooklyn Robot Foundry does not use any pre-made building sets but instead encourages kids to create mechanical robots out of everyday items like boxes, brushes, and tin cans. Brooklyn Robot Foundry offers after-school and weekend classes, camps, drop-in workshops, and parties for kids ages 4 to 12.

Dazzling Discoveries

Dazzling Discoveries is a new STEM learning center on the Upper West Side that offers year-round engineering, coding, and game design classes for tweens and teens. Dazzling Discoveries uses the latest technology and programming languages to teach kids how to design and build robots, drones, and other gadgets. Dazzling Discoveries also has a STEM-based summer camp and hosts birthday parties for little smarties.

Engineering for Kids

Engineering for Kids is a nationwide engineering program that offers robotics classes and camps for kids ages 4 to 14. Engineering for Kids uses Lego Mindstorms and WeDo sets to teach kids how to build and program robots that can perform various tasks and missions. Engineering for Kids also offers other STEM-related classes and camps, such as aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and video game design. Engineering for Kids has multiple locations in New York City.

The Consortium for Research & Robotics

The Consortium for Research & Robotics is a collaboration between Pratt Institute and the Brooklyn Navy Yard that aims to foster innovation and creativity in the field of robotics. The Consortium offers workshops and events for students, educators, and professionals to learn about and experiment with robotics and other emerging technologies. The Consortium also hosts an annual robotics competition for high school students, called the Brooklyn Robot Challenge.
