Robotics has been integrated into almost every workplace, affecting organizational structures and processes, and products and services. Thanks to AI, these robots promise significant benefits to organizations, eliminating many challenges that were prevalent before. Not just in the business world, robotics has made a place for itself when it comes to home gadgets too in the form of robot pets and assistants.

Not as destructive as how they show in every sci-fi movie, here are the latest developments in the field of robotics.

Meet Baubot, for The Construction Industry

Like every other industry, the construction industry has a new robot to help do the job. Baubot is a multi-talented mobile robot from Austria. This robot can transport heavy loads, lay bricks, and extrude concrete in 3D printing style with its robot arms. It can also sand sheetrock, cut, drill, and use a suction feature to lift heavy objects and put them in place.

The Sarcos Guardian XO is here to protect you!

Construction sites are dangerous and robotics has come up with a solution for that. Sarcos Robotics has created an exoskeleton, the Sarcos Guardian XO. The website claims, "our full-body powered exoskeleton augments operator strength without redistricting freedom of movement to boost productivity while drastically reducing injuries." Now, isn't that something straight out of Iron-Man?

The Grain Weevil Is Here For The Farmers

To remove clumped and rotten grains, thousands of farmers risk their lives by getting inside grain bins, every year. Did anyone think, "there needs to be a solution for this dangerous task?"

Yes, said the Nebraska-based JLI Robotics. The company that created a 26-lbs robot called Grain Weevil is set to change how grain bins are managed, which is a big deal for the agriculture community. The company said it uses "an auger-based propulsion to move across the top of grain to address several safety issues including breaking up the crust, leveling bins, doing the inspection, and helping the farmers with extractions."

Make Way For Self-Driving Trucks

This being called the first-of-its-kind in autonomous trucking technology. Canadian Tire Corp. and another Canadian startup NuPort Robotics Inc, an autonomous trucking company, have partnered with the Ontario government to invest $3 million on an automated heavy-duty trucking project. This self-driving truck technology provides relief for the middle mile runs that semi-tractor trailers make between warehouses every day.

"The trucks are currently transporting goods between a Canadian Tire distributor center in the Greater Toronto Area and nearby rail terminals within a 20-kilometer radius, and early results are promising", said Raghavender Sahdev, CEO of NuPort Robotics.

We're yet to see the potential of these use bots in real-time action, for an extended period of time. But one thing is for sure, these bots are a big step towards robotic advancements that are practical solutions to real-time problems across industries. With further use, such technologies might come up with multi-disciplinary uses as well.
