Sports Illustrated Tickets Announces a New NFT Ticketing Platform

Box Office, a new NFT ticketing platform based on Polygon, was unveiled by Sports Illustrated Tickets today.

With the introduction of the NFT ticketing platform "Box Office," Sports Illustrated (SI) plans to completely transform the event ticketing market. It was created on the Polygon network as a result of a partnership between Sports Illustrated's SI Tickets and ConsenSys, the maker of MetaMask.

A potential mass-market use for Web3 technology is NFT ticketing. The entry of Sports Illustrated into this market could give it further traction. Blockchain technology has many advantages for customers, according to Polygon Labs' Brian Trunzo, Head of Business Development for North America. These include improved payment security and a ban on fraud and scalping.

Box Office is now a part of Sports Illustrated Tickets, an online ticket exchange for major sporting, musical, and theatrical events. A section of the larger Sports Illustrated media and magazine brand is SI Tickets.

For instance, tickets for the next Texas youth football championship game, which is expected to hold up to 2,000 spectators, will be available on Box Office. Box Office anticipates listing free and paid tickets from affiliated music venues, nightclubs, business conferences, private parties, fitness and yoga studios, comedy clubs, religious retreats, and charity event planners in addition to child sports.

The SI Tickets mobile app contains the NFT tickets from the Box Office. Tickets can contain information that engages fans, such as photo and video highlights, souvenirs, personalized messages, promotional offers, and loyalty benefits, in addition to allowing access to the event. A recording or upload of content is possible before, during, and after an event.
