Robots can Now Perform Household Tasks as Efficiently as Humans

IndustryTrends

Robotic automation has been gaining steam for the past several months. Early adopters of robotics and automation have gained an intense edge in the market. Robotics and other such technological devices have made our lives extremely easy. Besides, there are several other nations that have adopted robotics to protect their nations from attacks and other security dangers. Experts say the future will witness the emergence of friendlier robots that will eventually become a part of all families. New research data reveals robots have become advanced and capable enough to perform household chores just by watching humans!

Robots are now used for many purposes, ranging from space exploration to surgery. Now, it will provide relief to humans by performing all household chores! According to reports, the innovation of the new AI learning method known as the WHIRL, which is short for In-the-Wild Human Imitating Robot Learning, enables robots to learn household chores quickly and efficiently. The robot can directly learn from watching human-interaction videos and generalize that information into new tasks, making the robot well-suited to learning household work.

Currently, most methods for teaching robots typically rely on imitation or reinforcement learning. Via imitation learning, humans generally make a robot to teach it how to basically complete a task. But through this process, the robot is typically trained on millions of examples in simulation and then are being asked to adapt to the training for the real world. WHIRL can now enable robots to accomplish several complex tasks in their natural environment. Now the robotics domain can add one more feather to its cap!
