Google's upcoming Chrome 117 web browser update will include a number of key security improvements

A much-needed update to the Google Chrome web browser will be available soon. From version 117, Chrome will proactively let users know why an extension has been removed from the Chrome Web Store. In accordance with the company's official blog post, the most recent version gives customers greater control and significantly increases the security of Google Chrome web browsing. Users can now examine extensions that have been removed from the Chrome Web Store, particularly if they were flagged as malicious software or for breaking store rules. The "Privacy and Security" tab of the settings menu will allow users to review these modifications.

Users have the option to delete the extension from the same menu or keep using it while hiding the warning. As a result, users can now access extensions that have been flagged as malicious, a function that was not available in earlier iterations of Google Chrome. The 117th beta version of Google Chrome will be released in the next few days, according to the company.

Google said in another blog post that Chrome will convert all URLs from "http" to "https" automatically in order to enable automatic encryption and improve user privacy. Similar to this, Google will alert users before they download a "high-risk" file from an unprotected domain. In the world of online browsers, Google Chrome currently has a market share of over 62%. The business is actively trying to create and improve the web browser in order to increase security and usability.
