Coca-Cola & McDonald's Singapore Embrace NFTs, Sparking Digital Collectible Excitement

McDonald's Singapore will be releasing 2000 exclusive Grimace NFTs, each with its design, in a new venture by the fast-food chain that aims to delight fans and collectors alike. The fast food chain's iconic Grimace character, best known for his friendly and playful personality, has been one of McDonald's signature characters for over 50 years. Coca-Cola also entered the digital art realm with a brand-new NFT collection within Coinbase's layer-2 network known as Base.

In the spirit of Coinbase's "Onchain Summer" event, Coca-Cola's debut NFT collection sought to make a statement. Dubbed the Masterpiece collection, it's a symphony of revered classics and modern marvels mingling with the iconic silhouette of the Coca-Cola bottle.

This digital soirée focused more on Grimace, a large, purple character often used as a prominent part of McDonald's advertising and branding throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Last year, Coca-cola made over $575,000 by foraying into the metaverse in May. Auctioned over 72 hours, the NFTs were sold as a single "loot box" through the OpenSea platform. It included four friendship-inspired NFTs built around Coca-Cola's merchandise. The collectibles included vintage Coca-Cola coolers, a custom-designed Coca-Cola bubble jacket, and more.
