Apple AirTag 2 enhances location tracking with spatial ecosystem integration

According to reports, Apple intends to release an improved AirTag next year. Apple AirTag 2 might enter major production by the fourth quarter of 2024, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The Cupertino-based firm now sells the first-generation Apple AirTag, which was released in April 2021. While the tracker is scheduled for an upgrade, the specifics of what to expect from the next-generation AirTag are unknown. The current Apple Inc AirTag has proven to be a handy tracking gadget, allowing users to locate objects such as keys or wallets by attaching an AirTag to them.

Kuo offered his thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ming-Chi Kuo also discusses potential areas of concentration for the new AirTag, taking into account the potential for improvement. He speculates that Apple may be seeking to build a new ecosystem centred on spatial computing, with Apple Vision Pro serving as the central hub and integrating numerous devices, including the impending AirTag 2.

Apple AirTags are small trackers that will be available in 2021. Owners may use the gadget to track and monitor their items using the Find My app on Apple iPhones. The price is US$29 (3,490).

Meanwhile, Apple is said to have begun mass manufacturing its iPhone 15 series display. According to a South Korean website, The Elec, Apple's display supplier Samsung has begun mass production of the OLED panels for the next devices. It claims that Apple has permitted Samsung Display to manufacture four unique OLED panels for the iPhone 15 series.
