The humanoid robot to be displayed at the CSE in 2022

A UK-based company called Engineered Arts has designed a new humanoid robot that can look and express as humans do with great ease. The video of this humanoid robot was released on YouTube where the company showed off its most advanced humanoid robot that is dubbed Ameca, a platform for testing robotic technologies.

With huge developments in the artificial intelligence and machine learning sector along with cutting down manual tasks, robots are doing far more things than that. But for still, humans and machines to work together more fluidly, machines need to occupy the same space and humanoids are the best platforms to do this. Researchers across the globe are working towards making humanoid robots more interactive by teaching them non-verbal communication and Ameca has reached a milestone in this area. In the video released, the humanoid robot appears to have woken up in a robotic laboratory while an actual human is busy working in the background.

The robot moves its arms and expresses amazement at how its hands and fingers are moving looking at the camera. This small video shows what the robot can do when it comes to the upper half of the body. But Ameca still cannot walk yet. Ameca is aimed at lending support in a more flexible and sophisticated manner and so its developers call it as the future face of robotics. According to the Engineered Arts website, it can even rent out the humanoid robot the Ameca for expos or live discussions too. While coming to the inability to walk, the team uses a modular architecture for building its robots. So, upgrades to both software and hardware components can be made without having to purchase a new robot altogether.  So, sooner or later, Ameca will walk too. Ameca will be on display at the CES 2022, scheduled in January 2022.
