5G Technology Can Now Read Human Emotions in Public Areas

Disha Ganguli

The Dawn of a New Impactful 5G technology.

The advent of 5G technology is raining wonders, which also includes reading and interpreting human emotions now. The idea of detecting human emotions from artificial intelligence (AI) has originated in Korea, where a bunch of scientists is experimenting with the advanced form of 5G technology called 5G-I-VEmoSYS. Korean scientists claim that the technology functions wirelessly to detect and identify human emotions from body movements and signals.

The Five Kinds of Emotions Detected by 5G-I-VEmoSYS

Professor Hyunbum Kim from Incheon University in Korea is the primary developer of 5G-I-VEmoSYS. The system is trained to detect five different types of emotions such as joy, pleasure, sadness, anger, and neutral state. The technology is also composed of three subsystems that deal with detection, flow, and the mapping of human emotions. Here are few steps by which the technology senses emotions:

  • The system is connected with an Artificial Intelligence-Virtual Emotion Flow, which enables and allows the flow of specific emotion information at a specific time and area.
  • The information then reaches to Artificial Intelligence-Virtual Emotions Map. The map utilizes the information to discern a virtual emotion map, which can be used for threat detection and crime prevention, later.

The technology executes results in real-time. So, when a negative or threatening emotion is detected, the information gets conveyed to the nearest police department, immediately.

The Primary Objectives of 5G-I-VEmoSYS

5G-I-VEmoSYS was birthed to address the real-time issues of cybersecurity and terrorist threats to a nation. The ability to detect emotions in real-time and raise an alarm is an important requisite in times that run on the wheels of uncertainty. Terrorists pose a never-ending threat to nations. The only effective solution to counter such dangers is to employ precautions in foresight.

The Disadvantages of 5G-I-VEmoSYS

The Korean scientists and other experts highlight the potential problems that AI for crime detection can entail. The system undergoes serious security issues where a signal can be manipulated, anonymous abuses, and hacking-related cybersecurity threats. There are also possibilities of the system going hay-wired in cases of technical glitches and can raise false alarms.

The existence of biases in the system is also a major disadvantage. A report found that five cops in the US had an anti-black bias. These cons put the reliability of the system at stake. To obliterate such an issue, the developers of 5G-I-VEmoSYS are training to maintain integrity in terms of information collection.
