Here is everything you need to know about the 5G rollout in India in the first phase

Indian telecom companies preparing to take advantage of the 5G rollout in India may find it difficult to get skilled individuals who can help build applications for the next-generation services. During the initial phase, 5G will be accessible in 13 Indian cities. A nationwide rollout would then follow later on.

A growing need for qualified workers, notably engineers, who are already in short supply, may result from the introduction of 5G, according to employment agencies Teamlease and NLB Business Services. According to a report released in May 2022 by the Telecom Sector Skills Council, the benefits of 5G in India would require 22 million qualified workers by 2025 to fully achieve 5G technology, yet there is now a 28% supply-demand mismatch. The need for specialists in areas like radio frequency engineering, 5G open radio access network architecture, user experience design, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and AR is growing.

In the year leading up to September, job posts on the jobs platform Indeed increased by 34% for the telecom and 5G industries. From August to September 2022, there was a 16% increase in demand for telecom engineers.

Similar patterns were evident in the September Monster Employment Index from the employment website Monster.com. According to the report, telecom hiring increased by 13% as businesses expanded data center capacity, provided digital services across locations, and hired for specialized positions.

The need for security experts could become more acute. "For security, there was a 25% talent mismatch between August 2019 and August 2022. According to Saumitra Chand, a career specialist at Indeed India, the demand for network architects and security system designers will significantly increase as a result of 5G.

To increase revenue, businesses will also require personnel. More specialists would be needed for pan-India broadband penetration, according to Mayur Taday, a chief business officer of TeamLease Services, which will increase demand for sales, installation, and wiring personnel. He claimed that the expansion of 5G services will last for the following two years and probably result in the creation of 1,000 new employees per month.
