Unleashing Innovation and Business Agility with Intelligent Automation

Monomita Chakraborty

Today, the primary driving force behind digitalization processes is intelligent automation.

According to CIO India, as companies continue to pivot and adapt in response to the pandemic, more of them have turned toward automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML)—the trifecta behind intelligent automation—to help them streamline their business processes and better prepare for future "what if" scenarios.

It also mentioned that, in a recent refresh of its Automating with Intelligence study, Deloitte saw a significant uptick in the adoption of intelligent automation in 2020, with 73% starting their IA journey—a 15% increase over 2019. Of those, 37% are piloting (1–10 automations), 23% are implementing (11–50 automations), and 13% are scaling (51+ automations).

Intelligent Automation

Intelligent automation is a mixture of artificial intelligence and robotic process automation that is changing the way companies operate in virtually every industry. Intelligent automation systems are capable of sensing and synthesizing large volumes of data and automating whole procedures or business processes while learning and modifying as they go.

We can convert vast quantities of data into processable information, synthesize it into a usable format, and even suggest courses of action using IA. It can also monitor and automate tasks and procedures, and it can make decisions and learn as it goes because it's "intelligent."

This will come across as very wide. Anything from robotics and self-driving cars to cognitive computing and performance, reliability, and business functionality uses intelligent automation.

Big corporations aren't ignoring the advantages of intelligent automation. Google has acquired eight robotics start-ups, manufacturers are racing to develop the first fully autonomous vehicle, and IBM is actively investing in cognitive computing technology. But intelligent insight isn't just for the bigger teams; even small businesses can profit from it.

Intelligent Automation in Businesses

To stay ahead of digitally connected rivals and increasing consumer demands, businesses will need to implement intelligent automation, advanced enterprise automation, and workload management solutions. Intelligent service management solutions are a fast, reliable, and low-cost way to accomplish this.

Intelligent automation in conventional, cloud-based, and hybrid enterprise service management systems ensures real-time service availability and efficiency for internal and external customers, facilitates problem-solving, and eliminates complexity, enabling workers to concentrate their attention on higher-value tasks. Intelligent automation can also identify and quickly detect security flaws and compliance problems before they have a negative effect on a company's bottom line, saving money, time, and manual involvement while allowing businesses to spend their money wisely on smarter solutions.

Where will Intelligent Automation take us?

Intelligent Automation (IA) is the application of digital technologies like Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence to add tech led knowledge to the business operations.

IA is a critical component of today's and tomorrow's digital company's success because it offers the necessary effectiveness and reliability for long-term profitability. However, selecting the right technical partner or the most efficient implementation model can be time consuming.

As a result, you'll need specialists with both theoretical and functional expertise in the design, implementation, and management of complex solutions, as well as the ability to integrate legacy systems with new, cutting-edge technology in sound and effective business architecture. You'll also need internal skills and governance to manage the new breed of your company once the IA solutions are in production.
