Maximizing the Impact of Data Analytics Among Organizations

Monomita Chakraborty

Data analytics refers to analyzing a large volume of data to derive meaningful insights. There are several elements in the process of data analytics that can benefit a number of initiatives. An effective data analytics project would provide a consistent image of where you are, where you have been, and where you can go by integrating these components.

Today, businesses have high expectations from analytics, but work remains to be carried out to optimize the benefits of data-driven decision-making and to operationalize research models. In order to operationalize analytics, most organizations are yet to come up with a mature strategy. According to a study conducted by SAS among organizations, less than half of the best models are deployed by them, while 90 percent of models take more than three months to be deployed. Nearly half (44%) of models take even longer, more than seven months before they hit production.

As time, resources and motivation are important to workers, businesses need to prioritize plans and bring analytical research into place so they can have a meaningful effect on all aspects of the market. The use of analytics is no longer confined to large corporations with deep pockets. With 59% of companies using analytics in some way, it is now ubiquitous. And businesses are capitalizing in many ways on data innovation.

Data is everywhere and sorting is a required skill to detect what is useful and important to one's business. Analytics is being used these days for everything from forecasting the judgments of the Supreme Court case to optimizing marketing campaigns and revenue research. The challenge is to understand how analytics can assist organizations and start solving problems that they think are most important for short- and long-term performance.

For Instance, to solve business problems created by the epidemic, data analysis has been commonly utilized. According to a recent survey conducted by Burtch Works and the International Institute for Analytics (IIA) of 300 analytics professionals around the US, 43 percent of respondents confirmed analytics is at the forefront of their activities to help their organizations make important decisions in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

"The devastation of the COVID crisis will increase," Aaron Kalb, Co-founder and Chief Data and Analytical Officer of Alation said. He also mentioned that organizations were forced to invest quickly in business intelligence and data catalog technologies as the pandemic turned the global economy upside down, just to understand what was going on and make simple business decisions. It will be able to exploit such reactive investments to do constructive business process optimization when we reach a new standard in 2021.

For the last few decades, the face of our planet has been transformed by "data." Data Analysis is transforming how organizations work and make their business choices. It will have an important effect on the company's activities and can be a true game-changer for several sectors. And in minutes rather than hours, days, weeks, or months, you can generate data insights.
