Object-Oriented Programming: This paradigm is based on "objects", class instances. OOP brings to the front the ideas of encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphisms to deal with complex setups more coherently. 

Functional: It takes computation as an evaluation of mathematical functions and avoids changing-state or mutable data. This leads to obvious and predictable clearness observable in its code.

Declarative Programming: This would concern what should be achieved, not how to achieve it. It is characterized by languages for database queries.
