Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reclaimed the title of the richest person in the world after being overtaken by Bernard Arnault, CEO of French luxury brand LVMH (LVMHF) in December last year. According to estimates, Musk's net worth was approximately $187.1 billion due to a 70% surge in Tesla's stock price this year.
Elon Musk is a strong advocate of cryptocurrency, Dogecoin (DOGE), and Shiba Inu (SHBI) in particular, and has on several occasions lobbied for crypto to be accepted as a formal mode of payment. Despite the heavy advocacy from the business tycoon, the industry has been met with resistance over the past few months due to several ongoing lawsuits against various cryptocurrencies for breaching certain security regulations.
While Dogecoin and Shiba Inu dominate the meme coin space, Big Eyes Coin (BIG), as a new entry to the crypto marketplace has shown that it has the capacity to take on the big names in the industry.
Dogecoin (DOGE), the very first meme coin in cryptocurrency, was created in 2013 as an open-source currency to be used mainly as a tipping system on Reddit and Twitter to reward the creation or sharing of quality content. The meme coin gained popularity in 2021 largely due to endorsements from Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk and a Reddit group's push to pump up its price, which caused DOGE's price to jump by over 2000% to its record high of $0.7376.
However, Dogecoin's price appears to have lost much of its steam and currently trades at $0.08132 with a weekly decline of 6.06%, continuing its 30-day decline from $0.09869 to its current price. Experts suggest that Dogecoin's bearish movement could be due to the lack of endorsements from Musk in recent times.
Shiba Inu (SHIB), often referred to as "Dogecoin Killer", was created in 2020 to fill in the shortcomings of its rival Dogecoin. However, similar to its rival, Shiba Inu has also been trading in the red over the past week, showing a decline of 6.01% to trade at $0.00001238.
Shiba Inu's price, however, is expected to surge after the meme token's pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama announced the launch of the beta version of Shiba Inu's long-awaited Layer 2 ecosystem called Shibarium in March 2023. The announcement could potentially push Shiba Inu's price upward, suggesting a 'buy' for SHIB.
Big Eyes Coin (BIG) is a new ERC-20 meme token built on the Ethereum Network with a community-driven approach that invites cat enthusiasts to invest in the project with the assurance of shifting wealth into the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem.
The meme token is currently in its Initial Coin Offer (ICO) and in stage 12, Big Eyes Coin has raised $30.61 million in presale tokens. Big Eyes Coin will go live on the crypto marketplace when it reaches its target of $50 million presale tokens and with only three stages remaining, the tokens are selling at an alarming rate. A Big Eyes Coin token is currently worth $0.00049 and purchasing $1000 worth of BIG could generate 2,040,816 BIG coins at the launch date. Buyers may not have much time given the speed at which the tokens are selling but could still make heavy returns if BIG tokens are bought now.
Big Eyes Coin is offering a bigger presale treat with its latest creation, the Big Eyes Coin Loot Boxes; The Cute Box, Kitty Vault, and Super Saiyan Box. Each box costs $100, $500, and $1000 respectively to open with prizes ranging from $5000, $25,000, and $100,000 worth of BIG tokens. Interestingly, the results will always be randomized and at the minimum, users will always get their money back.
Big Eyes Coin accepts Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), and Tether (USDT), as well as Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Tron Reword Coin (TRC20), TRON (TRX), and Binance USD (BUSD) to purchase a BG token.
