The emergence of Twitter bots has started helping cybercriminals to steal crypto wallets by tracking multiple cryptocurrency tweets. It is known that cybercriminals always seek new innovative paths to steal digital currencies from the crypto wallets of crypto investors. On one hand, the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile while on the other hand, troubles from cybercriminals. Crypto investors should look after their crypto wallets while posting cryptocurrency tweets daily. Let's explore how cybercriminals are utilizing Twitter bots to steal crypto wallets through cryptocurrency tweets in 2021.

Cybercriminals are into one of the popular social media platforms, Twitter, to monitor cryptocurrency tweets with focus keywords such as crypto, cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many more. They have started to post comments in those tweets with risky and malicious links to hack crypto wallets. Twitter bots are helping with crypto wallet keywords including MetaMask, TrustWallet, Phantom, Yoroi, assistance, help, and many more. Twitter bots are looking for these keywords to act as fake support agents with fake support forms to seamlessly steal crypto wallets in a small period of time.

Crypto wallets are crucial for investors because it has a private key to open the wallet and manage cryptocurrencies. If one forgets the code of the private key, it is impossible to gain access to cryptocurrencies that are stored on the blockchain technology. Cryptocurrency tweets with such keywords are highly dangerous for crypto investors to protect crypto wallets from the hands of Twitter bots.

Crypto investors should be aware of Twitter bots while tweeting about any problem or issue with crypto wallets on Twitter. There will be a Google Form or any other fake support form to make one enter the mail id and the crypto wallet recovery phrase with the issue. The recovery phrase consists of a list of 12-24 words from a crypto wallet that helps to recover the wallet after it gets lost. Thus, the Twitter bot is helping to transfer all cryptocurrencies as well as crypto assets to cybercriminals efficiently.

Twitter is working on the issue of Twitter bot stealing crypto wallets in 2021 and has recommended not to share any recovery phrase with anyone to prevent this new cyberattack. One should be very careful about posting cryptocurrency tweets online and provide responses after extensive research. Twitter will identify these fraud apps and accounts and take serious enforcement actions against those bad actors.
