3 Great Cryptocurrencies Trading Under $5 – Cronos (CRO), Pac-Man Frog (PAC), Enjin Coin (ENJ)

Market Trends

Cronos and PAC are among the top cryptocurrencies that are trending today

Many cryptocurrencies are currently trading for several hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Take Bitcoin (BTC) for instance, buying 1 BTC will cost you a measly $40,000, not so affordable…

Of course, you could just buy 0.0001 BTC, or even less, but it can be frustrating to not be able to afford the whole thing.

This is why this article will precisely cover three interesting cryptocurrencies that can currently be acquired for less than $5 a piece. One of them, Pac-Man Frog (PAC), is pre-selling right now.

Cronos (CRO)

Cronos (CRO) is the utility token of the Crypto.org Chain and of Cronos Chain, the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible blockchain developed by fast-growing financial services company and crypto exchange Crypto.com.

Crypto.com made headlines over recent months through its theatrical marketing strategies, notably spending $700 million last November in order to rename Staples Stadium "Crypto.com Arena" for 20 years.

The project rebranded itself as Cronos in February 2021 in order to express its dedication to the development of a fully decentralized ecosystem.

Cronos is a typical example of a so-called "Ethereum killer", a term that refers to alternative Layer 1 (L1) projects that provide users with enhanced transaction speed at ultra-low-cost, therefore competing directly with Ethereum, the leading blockchain and smart contract platform today.

Other notable Ethereum killers include leading projects such as Binance's BNB Chain (BNB), Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), Polkadot (DOT), to mention only the leading ones.

Cronos Chain is Crypto.com's EVM-compatible blockchain and is powered by Ethermint, a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network developed using the Cosmos (ATOM) software development kit. This makes the Cronos and Ethereum chains compatible and able to communicate with one another, allowing decentralized applications (dApps) to be transferred between both networks, a major improvement.

Cronos is therefore a promising blockchain that contributes to the overall interoperability of the crypto space, an increasingly relevant goal given the number of blockchains existing and still being released today.

CRO is trading for $0.41 at the time of writing and is bound to experience a strong increase in price over the coming years!

Pac-Man Frog (PAC)

Pac-Man Frog (PAC) is an early-stage initiative that aims to create a decentralized community that will help pave the way for Web 3.0 developments.

Similar to Enjin, Pac-Man Frog will focus on gaming and NFT solutions, however with an emphasis on decentralized finance (Defi). Pac-Man Frog's whitepaper details the development of a dynamic ecosystem including a gaming NFT marketplace, an NFT launchpad, and a users' onboarding platform.

Pac-Man Frog is also developing an incubator specifically dedicated to emerging blockchain-based gaming and NFT projects in order to provide promising initiatives with access to capital, networking, and the opportunity to connect with peers.

Aside from that, Pac-Man Frog's token, PAC, contains a governance mechanism that will provide its holders with voting rights regarding Pac-Man Frog's evolution as a community-driven project.

PAC is currently in its presale time and will be listed on an exchange within the next few weeks. The presale can be accessed directly on Pac-Man Frog's website.

Enjin Coin (ENJ)

Enjin Coin (ENJ) is an interesting ERC-20 (Ethereum-based) token and the currency of the Enjin ecosystem. ENJ was issued in mid-2018, making it a relatively recent cryptocurrency.

Originally conceptualized in 2009, Enjin is a leading and battle-tested project in the field of blockchain-based gaming. Enjin's main product is the Enjin Network, a diversified gaming-focused platform that lets users build virtual marketplaces, websites, online communities, and group chats…

Users on the Enjin platform can use their ENJ tokens to create blockchain-based items such as NFTs and other gaming items. Enjin's interesting feature lies in the fact that, in order to create these items, users need to lock a certain number of ENJ tokens inside them, a number which varies depending on the items' rarity and popularity.

This mechanism in turn ensures that ENJ-backed assets have tangible value as they literally "contain" a number of ENJ tokens. In turn, these ENJ-based NFTs and items can be destroyed by users, who then receive back the Enjin tokens that were used to create the item in the first place – a process called "melting" by Enjin.

Besides, Enjin Coin's total supply is limited to 1 billion tokens and 88% of this supply is currently in circulation. As the number of Enjin users increases along with the number of ENJ-based items created, ENJ's circulating supply will decrease over time.

This makes ENJ a deflationary asset, meaning that its circulating supply decreases over time, making each individual ENJ token more valuable following the laws of demand and supply.

One ENJ token can currently be bought for $1.46, an affordable price for investors wanting to get exposed to the blockchain-based gaming industry.
