Sberbank of Russia launches Gigachat to compete with Google's Bard and Microsoft-backed ChatGPT

Numerous businesses have been motivated to develop a solid and capable conversational chatbot that is strong and capable after ChatGPT's release last year. Russia has entered the AI race, so now it's their turn. Sberbank of Russia launches Gigachat, the largest lender in Russia that released an AI tool to compete with Google's Bard and Microsoft-backed ChatGPT. It is now doing invite-only testing of its multimodal neural network technology. The business claimed the model could construct texts and graphics based on descriptions inside a single context, conduct a dialogue, write program code to create software and respond to user inquiries.

Sberbank claims that what distinguishes GigaChat from its rivals is its higher capacity to converse more intelligently in the Russian language than other international neural networks. This is especially crucial for a nation like Russia, where a sizeable segment of the populace wants to converse in Russian.

Sberbank's adoption of AI technology is part of a larger initiative by the bank to lessen Russia's dependency on imports. This process has become more crucial due to sanctions by Western countries against Russia due to its actions in Ukraine. Due to recent significant technological investments, the bank expects GigaChat to spur innovation and revolutionize how people work and conduct business in Russia.

The introduction of GigaChat follows the meteoric success of ChatGPT and is viewed by observers as the most recent development in the technological rivalry between the US and Russia.
