ChatGPT has a few advantages over the new AI model of Google Bard let's see about them

With the public release of Google Bard, the search giant's answer to ChatGPT, the battle of the AI chatbots has now exploded. So, how do these two endearingly human internet companions stack up? We've spent hours talking to both of them to find out.

ChatGPT and Google Bard appear functionally similar, with a white text box in which to enter your question. They are also based on powerful natural language processing engines. But, as we discovered in our hands-on Google Bard review, they're also two very different AI beasts.

5 Advantages of ChatGPT Over Google Bard

In this article, we have explained the 5 advantages of ChatGPT over Google Bard. Read to know more about these advantages of ChatGPT Over Google Bard.

  1. ChatGPT Is Better at Coding

One of ChatGPT's most impressive abilities is the ability to generate code from natural language prompts. For example, we've already seen it used to make a Wordle competitor called Sumplete, and the creative possibilities are limitless.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, is far from the ideal programming companion, as we discovered when attempting to create a game called Tic-Tac-Go. Whether you code in CSS, HTML, or JavaScript, the chatbot can fall into rabbit holes that you must rescue it from.

Despite its limitations, ChatGPT outperforms Google Bard in this category. According to Google, "Bard is still learning to code, and responses about code aren't officially supported for the time being." But that doesn't stop it from trying; when we asked it to assist us in creating the Tic-Tac-Go game shown above, it had a good shot.

  1. ChatGPT Is a Creative Muse

Looking for an AI assistant to help you generate creative ideas or analyze your work? This is another significant advantage of ChatGPT over the more limited Google Bard.

We have a few authors on the TechRadar team, and they've all found ChatGPT to be an excellent partner for coming up with new ideas based on short passages of writing or even critiquing their work.

This is due in part to ChatGPT's relatively generous input limits. For example, the free ChatGPT version can handle around 2,000 tokens (about 1,500 words) at a time, while the paid Plus tier can handle roughly double that. Meanwhile, Google Bard is limited to 1,000 tokens (or approximately 750 words) per session.

ChatGPT can also carry on a conversation for much longer without losing track of the context. All of this makes it a more powerful tool for generating text, generating new ideas, writing poetry, and even assisting you in writing screenplays.

  1. ChatGPT Is a Superior Teacher

ChatGPT can be an excellent teacher if you need a complex topic broken down into simple terms, whether for yourself or a child. While you should still be wary of so-called hallucinations (when an AI chatbot sounds overly confident about suspect assertions), it is far superior to Google Bard in this regard.

For example, if you ask both AI chatbots to "explain to an eight-year-old child how waves in the sea form," you'll get very different answers. While Google Bard responds in short, staccato sentences, like a tired geography teacher wishing for retirement, ChatGPT responds in a more descriptive, engaging manner.

ChatGPT will provide you with analogies, such as someone throwing a rock into a pond and disturbing the water. It will also include relevant information, in this case noting the moon's and sun's influence on our tides (something that was left out by Google Bard).

  1. ChatGPT Is Multi-Lingual

Google Bard can currently only converse in US English, though Google says it is "working to make Bard capable of speaking as many languages as possible." Another area where ChatGPT has a leg up on its competitor is that it has been trained on data in dozens of languages, including English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, and others.

ChatGPT can not only understand but also generate text in these languages. You can, for example, ask it to not only write you a brief history of ChatGPT in French but also to solve any grammatical conundrums that have stumped you. You may want to double-check their accuracy, but Bard is incapable of doing so.

  1. ChatGPT Is Simply a Lot More… Fun

In our experience, ChatGPT has a much higher ceiling for humor and fun than the more formal Google Bard. It also appears to be more culturally aware than its Google competitor, which is due to its training.

Meanwhile, Google Bard embarrassed itself by failing to recognize the character, resulting in a dull, generic scene that would have been too safe for Nickelodeon. It's the same story whether you ask it to write a bedtime story or some unlikely song lyrics – ChatGPT is currently just a lot more creative.
