A small set of marketers will be invited to try the Ad tools in a "testing playground" dubbed the AI Sandbox by Meta executives at a press event in New York.
The move represents the company's first venture into developing products that leverage generative AI technology, which mines enormous collections of historical data to produce new material such as literature, art, and software code.
Since Microsoft-backed firm OpenAI debuted chatbot ChatGPT in the autumn, there has been a flurry of interest and investment in the technology.
Meta's announcement comes a day after Alphabet's Google said that it will begin selling integrations of the technology in its search, email, and picture businesses.
