India's Optimism for AI era: A Bosch survey finds 76% of people are ready for AI solutions

Benefit or hazard? Is AI becoming more significant than before? Will it affect humanity in a way that lasts forever? Probably the most important query on everyone's mind right now is about the revolutionary possibilities of AI (Artificial Intelligence). These opinions are supported by the Bosch Survey, which emphasizes the increasing significance of AI as a major force behind global development.

India's Optimism for AI Era is about the forthcoming age of AI-led interventions, with 76% of them feeling personally ready for it, according to research that finds 64% of global respondents to be optimistic about artificial intelligence as the most impactful technology shortly. The Bosch Tech Compass study, which is being conducted in Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, intends to investigate people's attitudes, beliefs, expectations, worries, and more as they relate to developing technologies from a global perspective.

India is eager to adopt AI-powered solutions in a variety of fields, including industry, transportation, sustainability, and even everyday living. Taking action against climate change:

81% of Indian respondents and 71% of respondents worldwide believe that addressing climate change would need technical advancement. Indians are committed to using technical advancements for sustainable development, as seen by their great belief in the transformational power of technology to address environmental issues.

Artificial Intelligence in Mobility:

Regarding AI-powered integrations in mobility, increased safety was shown to be the most popular opinion among respondents from India (51%) and other countries (60%) respectively. Additionally, 48% of Indians anticipate AI-driven solutions to make parking simpler and more efficient. Among the additional advantages of AI, respondents from around the world highlighted improved range and lower fuel consumption (54%) and ADAS capabilities that allow for other things to be done while driving (34%).

Labeling transparency:

The majority of Indians, or 79%, concur that AI content must be labeled; this opinion is shared by 82% of respondents nationwide. Bosch is advocating for the required marking of any information produced by AI, which should indicate its machine origin. This method allows consumers to examine and credit the source of AI-generated content, while also promoting openness and accuracy.

Adapting AI in novel ways:

The poll highlights India's distinct desire to include AI in everyday interactions, with 70% of respondents choosing to trust AI chatbots over friends for answers, 62% expressing a readiness to see AI perform as stand-up comedians and 73% agreeing to accept AI suggestions for career choice.

Aspirations and worries:

While 48% of Indians believe that 5G and 46% of them believe that artificial intelligence would benefit society, there are worries about the potential drawbacks of humanoid and service robots. 56% of Indians emphasized the need for education in preparing for and ethically using AI. The necessity for sophisticated technologies to be deployed responsibly in the future is reflected in the nuanced knowledge of their intricacies.

In December 2023, market researchers Gesellschaft für Innovative Marktforschung mbH (GIM) conducted an online survey on behalf of Robert Bosch GmbH, targeting individuals aged 18 and above in seven countries: Brazil, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States of America (18–69 years) and China, India (18–59 years). Each of the following countries was polled: 1,000 people in France, Germany, and the UK, and 2,000 individuals each in Brazil, China, India, and the United States. Regarding age, gender, and geography, the random samples (Brazil, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States: 18 to 69 years / China, India: 18 to 59 years) are typical of their respective nations.
