India to Host Global IndiaAI 2023 Conference: India is set to host the first edition of the Global IndiaAI 2023 conference in October this year. This AI conference in India will bring together leading AI players, researchers, startups, and investors from India and around the world. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will cover a wide range of topics, such as next-generation learning and foundational AI models, AI applications in healthcare, governance, and next-gen electric vehicles, future AI research trends, AI computing systems, investment opportunities, and nurturing AI talent.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, will chair the conference. He said the conference aims to showcase AI's best and brightest minds and foster collaboration and innovation among them. He also said that the conference will build on the success of the previous SemiconIndia conferences that put India on the global semiconductor map and catalyzed investments and growth in the sector.
The conference will also highlight the vibrant IndiaAI ecosystem that comprises key initiatives such as DI Bhashini, India Datasets Program, IndiaAI Futuredesign program for startups, and IndiaAI FutureSkills program dedicated to nurturing world-class AI talent. These initiatives are part of the IndiaAI initiative, a comprehensive framework for developing and deploying AI solutions in various domains and industries. The framework revolves around five pillars: AI in Governance, AI Computing and systems, Data for AI, AI IP and Innovation, and Skilling in AI.

He also said India is committed to ensuring that AI is ethical and responsible, curbing user harm and encouraging innovation. He added that India looks forward to hosting the Global IndiaAI 2023 conference and inviting the global AI community to join the event.
