Snapchat Plus users will soon get access to additional AI features. Snapchat was one of the first social media platforms to leap into the AI race, becoming the first such platform to introduce an AI chatbot, My AI, in April 2023. Snapchat is expanding the AI experience by allowing users to create and share AI-generated photos, similar to DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion. Along with that, it is introducing another fascinating AI function that can repair your improperly cropped photographs.
"There are already so many ways for Snapchat+ members to express themselves with AI, whether they're creating an original Generative AI Bitmoji Background or Chat Wallpaper, transforming themselves in imaginative ways with Dreams, or learning about the world through conversation with My AI," Snapchat said in a blog post announcing the new features. Now, we're providing even more opportunities for users to create, edit, and capture photographs that drive continuing engagement through visual discourse."
1. AI-generated images: Using this functionality is quite simple. Navigate to the app's camera and look at the toolbar on the right. There will be a new AI button. When you click on it, you will be sent to another page where you can either create a prompt in the text area or choose one of the provided prompts for inspiration. When you press submit, the image will be produced, and you will see a share option at the bottom.
2. AI extend function: To activate this feature, click the crop button in the camera toolbar after selecting or uploading a photo from your gallery. You'll see a new 'expand' option at the bottom of the screen. Simply click on it. AI will automatically widen the image's viewpoint.
Please keep in mind that these features are only available to Snapchat Plus members, which are those who pay US$3.99 per month in the US or Rs. 49 per month in India for the subscription. These features are being rolled out, according to Snapchat, although regional availability may vary.
