The AI initiatives of Google are quite popular in the tech industry, except its products are not quite appreciated by the users. Mostly because they are not quite useful for all. Recently in Google I/O 2022, the company announced that it wishes to produce something for the employees working from home. The built-in camera and mic that the WFH professionals have been using were not of superior quality. Its pixels were mostly poorly lit and the sound felt like something coming out of a broken phone. But Google thinks that it can finally fix it, with the help of artificial intelligence.
In the Google I/O 2022, the company announced that its Workspaces team has been working on some AI that can improve the experience of virtual meetings. They called it 'Potrait Fix' that Google can automatically improve and sharpen the images, even with poor connection or a bad camera. The Portrait Lighting will enhance the quality of the video calls by providing a suite of AI-based controls to control how the users will use the lightning in the video. In fact, users can even create a fake light effect to brighten up the video using Google Meet, even when there are no windows in your room. Also, when it comes to sound qualities, Google has launched the de-reverberation tool that is designed to minimize the echoes that comes while talking into the laptop in an empty room.
Google has extensively worked on artificial intelligence and machine learning to make its Pixel phones much more efficient. The algorithms in these phones are much better than the webcam quality of an average laptop. Keeping these considerations in mind, the company is planning to give its users a much-needed facility for the employees working from home.
Besides this, Google plans to introduce a new tool that can generate automated summaries of Spaces activity so that the users can log-in in the morning and catch up instantly without having to read hundreds of messages. We can finally say that Google has finally launched something that will finally be helpful for its users!
