Goal-Oriented Behaviour: Is Coherence Argument Expected from AI Models in 2022?

Disha Sinha

Which side are you on? Goal-oriented behaviour is affected or motivated by coherence argument?

The global tech market has made it guaranteed that all advanced technologies such as machine learning, data science, computer vision, and many more will be focused on goal-oriented behaviour. Artificial intelligence models or AI models are expected to behave in a certain manner for all types of companies across all industries. But expected behaviour is not generating— there are coherence arguments from AI models that can hamper the decision-making process in a company. Let's explore whether coherence argument is expected from the goal-oriented behaviour of AI models.

How does the coherence argument affect the goal-oriented behaviour of AI models?

Artificial intelligence models are created for effective data management— collecting vast amounts of real-time data and transforming it into in-depth insights. These are known for helping in making smart decision processes efficiently and effectively. Leveraging artificial intelligence contributes to understanding consumer behaviour and market trends without any potential error to drive revenue in the nearby future.

Meanwhile, this coherence argument of AI models does not imply any goal-oriented behaviour in the global market. This argument goes against the preferences of the expected utility theory to lose the expected value of the output. There are debates whether the coherence argument affects the goal-oriented behaviour of AI models. Some AI experts and professionals are in favour of the coherence argument while some are against it.

If an AI model is determined to maximize any utility function, it does not mean that there is a goal-oriented behaviour. Artificial intelligence is suitable for EU (Expected Utility) maximizers for a utility function. If any company wants to eliminate the potential chances of predictable losses, coherence argument from AI models shows that one must be maximizing the EU.

There are multiple attributes or components that shows coherence force in AI models— an entity can detect difficult characteristics, a realistic chance for incurring a huge loss, it is in the status to modify preferences, as well as motivated to welcome coherence argument from Artificial Intelligence models for a better strategy.

Meanwhile, coherence argument does not need logic to require a goal-oriented behaviour as well as enhancing coherence means increased intuitive goal-oriented behaviour. Thus, the tech world does not have a distinct answer to whether coherence argument affects the goal-oriented behaviour or push AI models towards the goal. One needs to research more and come into own conclusion because perception differs.
