The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) every time witness some great innovations and this time there are a lot of peculiar ones have been introduced. In this regard, leaders in dental care space Colgate and Oral-B have divulged smart, AI driven toothbrush at CES 2020. On one hand, Colgate is bringing Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush embedded with a sensor that can easily detect plaque and other punitive build-ups in the mouth, on the other hand, Oral-B introduces Oral-B iO for deep teeth clean.

The Colgate smart toothbrush comes with the Colgate Connect app and can be connected through phone's Bluetooth. This will interpret data for its users and provide detailed information in real-time that is specific to each mouth. The app will also tell the users better techniques and methods on how to brush better and keep their teeth shiny clean. Moreover, it will inform users in real-time if they have missed a spot while brushing, the history of how well or how badly they have brushed and customized oral care tips as well.

Chief Dental Officer at Colgate, Dr. Maria Ryan said "The Colgate Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush is inspired by that shift and improves brushing efficacy by accounting for an individual's brushing technique and the biofilm buildup in their mouth. And by immediately alerting the user when an area is clean, Plaqless Pro coaches them to brush better, helping both the patient and the oral care provider to build an even stronger partnership in achieving optimal oral health."

Moreover, another AI-enabled smart electric toothbrush from Oral-B, named Oral-B iO, comes with an oscillating, rotating motor with light vibration that will deep clean the teeth.

According to Vice President, Global Health Care R&D, Proctor & Gamble (P&G), Oral-B iO™ goes beyond being a new toothbrush – it is an innovative brushing technology with a truly sensorial experience that users will feel, hear and see, transforming the act of brushing teeth from something they have to do into something they actually want to do."

In Oral-B iO, there is a Bimodal pressure sensor, which tells the users how much pressure they need to apply while brushing for better cleaning. For this AI-powered smart electric toothbrush, users will need to download the Oral-B iO app on their smartphone and with help of that they can easily keep track of their tooth health in real-time.

As the company claims, there are 7 cleaning modes in the toothbrush, including daily clean, sensitive and whiten. The Oral-B iO will go on sale in August this year.
