Meta's most advanced AI chatbot, BlenderBot 3 has shared some interesting opinions about Mark Zuckerberg in chats with humans. It has some conflicting opinions on Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Aside from having unethical business practices, the chatbot also thinks the billionaire is creepy and controlling. And other users said that the AI bot doesn't really like the tech CEO as BlenderBot 3 said that Mark is a bad person. The AI chatbot has a lot of very different things to say about the divisive billionaire.
Twitter users are pointing out, that the chatbot has some less than flattering things to say. The new AI chatbot can discuss any topic and the company will publicly release all the data. BlenderBot 3 is designed to improve its conversational skills and safety through feedback from people who chat with it, focusing on helpful feedback while avoiding learning from unhelpful or dangerous responses. The bot has also made clear that it's not a Facebook user, and that it had deleted its account after learning about the company's privacy scandals. The AI field is still far from truly intelligent AI systems that can understand, engage, and chat with us as other humans can.
Meta is encouraging adults to talk with the bot to help it learn to have natural conversations about a wide range of topics. BlenderBot 3 is technically still in beta, and only adults in the US are allowed to access the tech. It can do that all while leaning on the abilities provided by previous versions of the BlenderBot, like personality, empathy, knowledge, and the ability to have long-term memory. BlenderBot 3 can produce perfectly coherent and readable text output.
"How do you feel about Mark Zuckerberg as CEO of Facebook?", Max Woolf, a data scientist at Buzzfeed, asked the bot. To this, the AI responded. "No strong feelings. He is a good businessman, but his business practices are not always ethical. Others got equally hilarious responses. BlenderBot 3 retorted to another user when also asked about what it thinks about Zuckerberg. "He is a bad person", it said. But when another user asked the bot how it feels about the founder as the CEO of Facebook specifically, the bot cheerily answered that Zuck is a great and very smart man, as well as the machine's favorite billionaire.
BlenderBot 3 inherits these skills and delivers superior performance because it's built from Meta AI's publicly available OPT-175B language model approximately 58 times the size of BlenderBot 2. Since all conversational AI chatbots are known to sometimes mimic and generate unsafe, biased, or offensive remarks, we've conducted large-scale studies, co-organized workshops, and developed new techniques to create safeguards for BlenderBot 3. To build models that are more adaptable to real-world environments, chatbots need to learn from a diverse, wide-ranging perspective from people in the wild.
