Coursera Data Analytics Training Paid By Google! A New Initiative

Google is providing funding for a Data Analytics course in Coursera. Will it be profitable for students?

Google is moving up to assist improve the talent pipeline as the need for data analysts grows. Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO, announced the creation of a US$1 billion Google Career Certificates Fund, that will provide certificates in sectors such as data analytics, IT services, project management, and user experience design to 20,000 American employees. The number of data analyst employment will expand by roughly 25% between 2020 and 2030, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is "far faster than normal."

As an investor, Google will utilise business funds and Google.org grants to offer its Career Certificate programme to students for free. Data analytics certificate programmes, for example, can be completed totally online. The financing will be provided by Social Finance, funding and advising charity, to nonprofit partners such as Merit America and Year Up.

There will be no upfront fee to complete the curriculum through the initiative, but learners will have to pay for it after they secure a job that pays at least $40,000 annually. According to Coursera, the data analytics certification course generally costs students under $300 to finish because many students complete it in six months or less.

The Google Career Certificates programme provides professional training as well as opportunities to network with leading businesses.

Students earning under $40,000 per year are exempt from paying any fees to finish the programme. According to Social Finance, repayments will be re-invested in the programme. According to information supplied to Coursera by Burning Glass, entry-level data analysts earn more than $67,000 per year on average. Participants who earn upwards of $40,000 per year will make monthly payments with no interest.

Google Career Certificates were created by subject matter experts & senior practitioners from each of the employment sectors at Google. Every certificate has been designed to provide learners with the theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as real-world problem-solving abilities, that they will need to succeed in an entry-level position. Expert industry groups and platforms consulted and worked on the material, including the Project Management Institute on project management, Tableau for data analytics, or Figma for UX design, to mention a few.

The total number of classes in the Google Data Analytics course is eight.
