The concept of AI inside the human body is a lot different from the idea of humanoid robots. For example, when a person loses his hearing power and an AI-powered hearing machine is attached to his ear, the machine would categorize necessary sounds apart from the unnecessary noises. It would provide him with the experience of hearing and because of being a machine, it may enable him to hear more than what is humanly possible. The augmentation of AI in the human body points to the chances of enhancing human abilities to a certain extent. It may seem to be coming out of a page of a Marvel or DC comics book, but it is not. It is very much real as Tesla founder Elon Musk has launched tech start-up Neuralink to build implants that connect human brains with computer interfaces via artificial intelligence.
The goal of Neuralink is to understand and treat different forms of the brain or spine-related disorders. For instance, paralyzed humans could use the implanted device to control phones or computers. Musk also envisions the implant as a means of enhancing your own brain, giving humans the option to achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence (AI). He also feels that it would eventually lead to a future of superhuman intelligence. Musk's Neuralink start-up has also built a neurosurgical robot that is capable of inserting six threads into the human brain per minute.
AI-powered brain-interface technologies would be able to make people smarter by helping them make better decisions, improve working memory, and process more information more efficiently. An AI-infused brain would truly revolutionize how, and how quickly, people learn by making it possible to upload knowledge of a number of domains directly to the brains, including in high-skill fields such as engineering, law, medicine, and science. It would combine human creativity with the processing power of AI, thus bringing cognitive superpowers to every person on the planet and unleashing a new era in human productivity.
