Fishes and other sea foods have been crucial part of Indian cuisine. But do you know a right way to fry them? Now, artificial intelligence technology appears set to compete with mothers and chefs on the best way of frying fish. Scientists at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur, have trained an AI system called an artificial neural network (ANN), operating on a desktop computer, to determine the ideal conditions for frying catla in mustard oil. Their research suggests that catla fried at a cooking temperature of about 119°C for six minutes on a non-stick frying pan with 40ml per kg oil-to-fish ratio will yield the best possible nutrient value. No wonder AI in kitchen plays a crucial role now especially knowing that Artificial intelligence technology will help you fry your fishes right.
"These numbers are not cast in stone — you could tweak them at will for either taste or lower oil content," said Jitamanyu Chakrabarty, associate professor of chemistry at NIT Durgapur, who led the research that was funded by Bengal's science and technology department.
For a long time, smart kitchens were a concept of the future you could only see in movies. Thanks to robotics, Artificial intelligence technology, and hardworking engineers, smart kitchens are slowly making their way into the present.
Some restaurants already have AI in kitchens that rely on innovative technology to take orders, prepare, stir, and even spice the food.
Not only do AI-powered kitchens eliminate menial tasks from cooking, making the job much easier for cooks, but they also have functional advantages and save energy.
Moreover, smart kitchens look like something from a sci-fi series. So, if you're a sucker for futuristic designs, the innovative and modern AI in kitchens won't leave you indifferent.
AI-powered kitchens still haven't made their way into our everyday life. However, just like every new technology, it's only a matter of time before everyone can afford them.
