And later announced DALL-E 2, which can generate photos, illustrations, and paintings produced by human artists. It can create multiple realistic images and artwork from a single text prompt.

As the access to AI art generators begins to widen, more artists are raising questions about their capability to mimic the work of human creators. It also can't generate recognizable faces based on a name, even those only recognizable from artworks such as the Mona Lisa are generated only by creating distinctive variations. It could interpret gibberish and takes us away from how an AI tool should work and make decisions like a human.

The idea of using AI tools that feed on past artworks to create new artworks that make money feels wrong. When a user inputs some text for DALL-E to generate an image, it notes a series of key features. While it will be difficult to sue someone for using AI to copy their work, it is expected of generating lawsuits. And some creatives fear for their livelihoods.
